Families First at MCDI
Families First at MCDI is a supportive transitional housing program which offers families the opportunity to become self-sufficient.
Families First is designed to serve 12 homeless families for up to a 2 year period of time. The objective of this program is to provide supportive services, working towards the ultimate goal of independent living.
Program Services:
The Families First at MCDI program offers a challenging program that promotes personal growth and healing based upon individual need. Some of the supportive services available are:
- Case management
- Support groups
- Motivational workshops
- Job search
- Parenting classes
- Advocacy
- Financial management
- Consumer education
- Mentoring
- Nutrition
- Substance abuse counseling
- Health care advocacy
Eligibility:
In order to be considered for the program, a family must meet the following requirements:
- Be presently homeless
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Reside in the Springfield Area
- Be actively parenting their child
- Be enrolled in a training/educational program, and/or employed with the goal of self-sufficiency
- Be willing to participate in program activities
